What We Believe and Teach

We’re glad you clicked on this page!
It means you believe that what a church teaches is important.
So do we.
At the very center of our church and of our faith, is Jesus Christ Himself, the Chief Cornerstone. The Son of God and Son of Man is the Head of the Church who gave Himself to suffer and die upon this earth as the one and only all-sufficient atoning sacrifice for our sins.
He has ransomed and redeemed us from sin, death, and the devil through His death and has sealed for us through His resurrection the assurance of eternal life in His heavenly kingdom.
In the Bible, God tells us that, due to the Fall of Adam and Eve, humanity is trapped in sin. We have no ability whatsoever to rid ourselves of sin and its consequences.
However, out of His mercy and love, God the Father sent His Son, Jesus Christ, fully man and fully divine, to live and die for us. Through His holy life and death, Christ accomplished what we never could – the atonement of sins.
On that basis, we are justified (declared worthy), and God gives us this precious gift of grace by creating faith in our hearts through His Word and Sacraments. Now, when God sees you, He sees His dear, forgiven child.
This is the Gospel message that our church proclaims. This is what Lutheranism is all about.
We are affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Synod. For more information about our beliefs’ see the “We Believe, Teach and Confess” page on our synod’s website.
